The Society of Augustinian Restorationists
The Society of Augustinian Restorationists (SOAR) was founded by the Most Reverend Frederick L. Pyman, S.T.D. as the Congregational Society of Augustinians in 1965 to observe the "Precepts of Christian Catholic Practices" especially in the Christian obligation of intercessional prayer on behalf of others; to seek a daily relationship with God by a close awareness of His presence as taught by St. Augustine; to share the Enlightenment that comes from that relationship. In order to promote and restore religious worship based upon these principles and the Rule of St. Augustine, the Society was incorporated as the Society of Augustinian Restorationists on January 30, 1984 as a non-papal apostolic Catholic group of clergy and lay persons dedicated to serving God and His people by united them in Christian fellowship with one another and with the Lord. The Society invites applications for membership in amy of its four categories of membership: Clerical, Religious, Lay and Associate.
